Films that cause social change and copyrights and films

We are going to watch 2 films, 1 is “If you love this planet” and “RIP”.

If you love this planet is a short film that won an Oscar in the 1980’s.  It has archived footage of the damage that nuclear bombs are capable of doing and real footage from Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

We will examine and critique films that can cause social change.

In RIP!: A remix manifesto, “Web activist and filmmaker Brett Gaylor explores issues of copyright in the information age, mashing up the media landscape of the 20th century and shattering the wall between users and producers.” (NFB Site)
